The Golfer Development Program (GDP) is for the player who needs to re-tool a large portion of his or her golf game. This can be for the inexperienced player just getting started as well as a player who has played at a higher level and has lost some confidence.
The GDP is an 8-Session series that gets us involved in all aspects of the game and provides positive feedback and instruction for those areas. The goal is to do 1 Session per week so we can complete the series in roughly 2 months time. You will be encouraged to practice between each session so you can start to incorporate some of the techniques and thoughts we worked on.
Here is how the series is broken down:
Session 1 – Interview and Playing Analysis
This is a pre-lesson to the series where we will discuss your golf history (if any) and break down some of the areas you feel are strengths and weaknesses. We will also go over your golf in the game of golf and define them so we can have specific ones to work toward. Also, if experienced enough, we will do a 3-hole playing test where I will take notes and conduct and analysis of your on course game. This will give us a great spot to know exactly where we need to start the series.
The Series of Lessons with consist of a breakdown of our main areas of the game and they are Putting, Short Game, Full Swing, & Playing & Scoring.
Depending on our initial interview, this is how we will determine where to begin. All of these areas will be covered during at least one lesson of the series, however.
Sessions 2-7: The Lessons
As I stated above, the lesson series will be determined after our initial interview and playing analysis and depending on your practice efforts and grasp of the areas we might focus on certain ones more than others. The whole reason I developed this program is to make you a better player and we need to work as a team to achieve all the goals we laid out in the beginning.
Session 8: The Final Exam
Time to put it all together! We will schedule a time for you to play 9-holes of golf and we will track the performance during that round. We will keep stats to see where you improved throughout the series and see where there might still be an area that needs freshening up. After we finish, we will analyze how the series went and see where we could have done improved. This is important to knowing the next steps to work on.
Golf is an ever evolving game and one that is never mastered. With the proper techniques, mental game, and scoring mindset players of all skill levels can meet and exceed their goals. It is important that we outline exactly what we want to achieve and how we will go about achieving it. This will help us in the final analysis process to see if we did everything we could to reach our goals
